MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

Introduction

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights which is constituted in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which are abuses of a person’s freedoms and rights.

The company is committed to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking in all operations. We are dedicated to improving our practices to combat modern slavery and human trafficking to ensure it does not take place in any of our business, supply chain and its products. We strive to ensure all operations are conducted in an ethical manner and with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach towards slavery and where applicable, we make sure our suppliers are aware of our policies and adhere to the same standards.

Our Supply Chains

Our company operates in the United Kingdom and within the Business Services sector. Our supply chains include the sourcing of candidates for placement to clients. In addition to direct recruitment, our supply chains also include other limited companies that supply us with contractors. We have direct control over the sourcing of all candidates and have implemented a system of checks to be carried out by our staff when engaging candidates.

Our Policies

We have a number of internal policies visible to the business to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner and shows our commitment to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains and that we are enforcing effective systems and controls to guarantee this:

We operate these policies so that employees are able to raise concerns within our business or supply chains without fear of reprisal as well as detailing our core values and expected behaviours making it clear of our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery

Due Diligence

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and expect all those in our supply chain and contractors to comply with our values. As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains we operate the following due diligence procedures:

  • We have a stringent vetting procedure and undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers.
  • When entering new contracts, where possible, we include contractual provisions for ensuring compliance with all relevant Acts combating modern slavery.

Our due diligence procedures aim to identify and monitor potential risks in our business and supply chains, reduce the risks of slavery and human trafficking occurring in the business and supply chains and provide protection for whistle-blowers.

Monitoring Risks & Compliance

To ensure the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business are understood, we include a training session on modern slavery in our induction for all new staff and provide copies of booklets and factsheets to all staff members so all staff members can identify the signs of slavery and human trafficking, what initial steps should be taken if slavery is suspected and what external help is available. Our Modern Slavery Act Policy has been sent around to all the business offices to ensure awareness and is also available to view in our employee handbook to access at any time.

The company has evaluated its exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking in its UK supply chain by regularly reviewing all aspects of the supply chain. We do not consider that we operate in a high risk environment because the majority of our supply chain is based in the UK and in low-risk industries such as healthcare and IT services.

Where there is evidence of failure to comply with our policies and procedures by any supplier we will require the supplier to remedy the non-compliance.

The company will measure the effectiveness of the due diligence through KPIs, including contacting suppliers on an annual basis regarding their modern slavery practices and training our employees about modern slavery issues to increase awareness within the company.

This statement was approved by the board of directors and is made pursuant to section 54(1), Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, relates to actions and activities for the financial year ending 2023 and constitutes our slavery and trafficking statement.
